This study investigated university students' perception of artificial intelligence(AI) which currently being discussed as new technology that will revolutionize university education. Specifically, it examined the university students' perception of AI, of universities’introduction of AI technology, and of AI professors. To do this, it conducted a survey of university students and analyzed the results of 337 students who responded sincerely to all questions. As results, first, regardless of the level of knowledge about AI, 89.6% of students responded that AI is a convenient technology that can co-exist with humans. Second, more than half of students(51.9%) responded positively to the universities’introduction of AI technology. As the fields of application of AI technology, students responded in the order of academic information guidance(50.1%), learning counseling(24.9%), and personalized learning support(24%). Third, when students were asked whether AI professors could replace human professors, more than half of the respondents(63.2%) said that AI professors could not replace human professors. Regarding AI professor's image, most of students responded that the appearance of AI professors was not important whether they were a computer, avatar, or a humanoid robot. Also, students responded that AI professor will be able to help learners’memories(24.6%), comprehension(21.6%), and analysis(45.7%). Based on these results, implications for research and suggestions for future studies were discussed.
