초록

Achievements of studies have been mainly made through approaches to the literatures, by exploring authors, with historical and sociological approaches to the backgrounds of the works and comparative analysis with foreign literature. These approaches and methods are extrinsic study Wellek and Warren described. Exploring the life of an author and studying social structure at his age has been essential topics in the field of studying and educating literature. These have been unquestionable methods from the beginning of study on contemporary literature. Intrinsic approach means study on structure and interpretations of a literature. Exploring into author’s life, thoughts and social backgrounds contribute to providing basic tools for studying literature itself. Exploring, inquiring and educating coherences may accomplish the study and education on literature but this is not easy task. Thus, intrinsic study and educating its result with help from extrinsic study has not been set up yet. In other words, no idealistic way of studying and educating literature has been established. This is the reason. We have overlooked the fact that the literature is one of the arts related with humans’ imaginations and therefore, we must differentiate the tools for studying literature from the methods of social sciences which focuses on social phenomena and systems. The achievements of studies are made through the literary approach, by exploring authors, with historical and sociological approach and comparative study with foregoing literatures. We have studied literature through the method of social science and we need to find the way of study and education restoring literature itself. Enlarging the extension of literature may be accomplished by connecting practical ones with these fundamentals. Various approaches and interpretations are the objects of literature, one of arts. And it will be easily converted into cultural contents related with imaginations.
