Nowadays, due to problems with environmental pollution, electric vehicles are receiving much attention as an alternative to conventional vehicles. Electric vehicles powered by battery have different characteristics from conventional vehicles. That is, they have a short driving range and take a long time to charge the battery. Thus, additional factors such as energy consumption and charging time should be considered in electric vehicle routing. We define the problem of electric vehicle routing and analyze the complexity of solutions to solve them. We propose direction to optimize electric vehicle routing. © 2019 IEEE.
