This study is based on an analysis of modern dance phenomenon in Korea through a newspaper article on modern dance festival(MODAFE). In order to carry out the research, a total of 596 data were collected by searching for 'MODAFE' and 'International Modern Dance Festival' as keywords in Big KINDS. The collected data were analyzed using LDA(Latent Dirichlet Allocation) Topic Modeling. Based on the derived topics, we looked at the trends of modern dance. The first phase (1990-1999) produced topics such as 'Festival Information', 'Modern Dance as an Fine Art', 'Domestic-Oriented Festival' and 'International Festival'. In the second phase (2000-2009), topics such as 'Festival Information', 'New Choreographer Fostering', 'visiting Korea Performance', 'Avant-Garde Performance' and 'Various Programs' were derived. In the third phase (2010-2019), topics such as "the longest-running modern dance festival in Korea," "PR Ambassador Cho Yeo-jung," "expression of life," "Promotional Ambassador Moon So-ri," "Dancer's Greatful Awards" and "Festival Information" were derive.
