The purpose of this study was to examine the multiple mediating effects of rumination and anger rumination on the relationship between adolescents’ interpersonal stress, depressive symptoms, and aggressive behaviors. The subjects of this study were 203 middle school students lived in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province. Participants completed interpersonal stress scale, Youth Self–Report(YSR), Children’s Depression Inventory(CDI), Ruminative Response Scale(RRS), Anger Rumination Scale(ARS). Collected data were analyzed by SPSS 23.0 and Procss Macro. The results were as follows: First, rumination mediated the relationship between the family/peer/girlfriend·boyfriend relationship stress and depressive symptoms. Second, rumination mediated the relationship between the adolescents’ family relationship stress and aggressive behaviors. Both rumination and anger rumination respectively mediated the relationship between peer/girlfriend·boyfriend relationship stress and aggressive behaviors. These results highlights the important role of rumination and anger rumination to understanding of adolescents’ depressive symptoms and aggressive behaviors caused by interpersonal stress.
