초록

This study looks into the recognition experience of the women’s gender roles at home and explores the aspects of its becoming permanent and internalized. Accordingly, in this study, we explored the stories about gender roles that married women in their 40s and single women in their 20s had experienced at homes, and the meaning of such experience was identified. We collected and analyzed the narrative of the experience after conducting in-depth interviews with two study participants. The meaning of the participants’ experience of home gender role was ‘the unfairness of the transfer of responsibility of household labor and the dependence on roles in the home: the resistance period’, ‘the reproduction of roles in household labor: the conflict period’, ‘the scheduled conflict due to gender role rationalization: the acceptance period.’ The results of this study will be used as a very effective data for the family counseling by understanding more deeply how the gender role perception of women in the home is formed.
