A Comparison of Consulting Assistance Programs in US Female-Owned Business

This paper analyzed the differences in satisfaction of consulting programs in female-owned business and the perceived impact of these programs on small business performance. We classified our comparisons into three groups: those who had experienced a sponsored consulting program: those who had experienced a non-sponsored consulting program; and those who had experienced a combination of the two. There were statistically significant differences among the three groups. Respondents who had experienced non-sponsored programs in the area of production/operating system expressed more satisfaction with the consulting programs than the other respondents. With respect to the Performance variables, profitability showed significantly fisher performance for the non-sponsored programs or combination programs than for sponsored Programs. Our results indicated a degree of satisfaction for these programs and the positive impact these consulting programs had on female-operated small businesses,
