This study examines the historical evolution of gender-discriminatory words and analyzes the recent phenomenon of gender-based conflict evident in newly coined words. The flow of gender-related language has progressed through gender-discriminatory, gender-conflict and gender-equal. The types of them were categorized into old and new forms, as well as female and male forms. We analyzed their usage patterns across various media, including proverbs, popular music, newspapers, broadcasts, and the internet. A survey was also conducted to gauge public perception. We found that older discriminatory terms are rooted in traditional Confucian ideology, while newer ones have spread due to the anonymity of social media. The study found that all generations express a strong aversion to gender-conflict words. Younger people were unfamiliar with older discriminatory terms, while those over 50 were unaware of newer hate speech. 20s showed the strongest aversion to hate speech targeting their own gender, with this sentiment being particularly strong among women. Women in their 20s called for more proactive measures to promote linguistic gender equality, including stricter online regulations and better education on hate speech. They favored a more flexible approach to adopting gender-equal words.
