The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of the music therapy program that developed autistic children's social interactions. Three autistic children attending a special kindergarden participated in 34 sessions. A multiple baseline design was taken in the study. Results showed markedly improvement in their interaction skills. Among those skills, response behavior was most frequently observed in all the children, which was followed by intention recognition behavior, initiation behavior, give-and-take behavior, and creative expression behavior. It was noticed that activities such as greeting song, structured and unstructured instrumental activities, singing activities, motion activities, and farewell songs elicited more response behavior with initiation behavior frequently observed with it. On the other hand, unstructured instrumental activities such as improvising elicited more initiation and give-and-take behavior.
