초록

The purpose of this study is to explore the relevance of career construction theory to the metacompetence of a protean career. In order to achieve this research purpose, this study explored the concept and background philosophy of protean career and career construction counseling, and grasped the relationship with career counseling intervention. In particular, the focus was on life themes and adaptability, which are the main concepts of career construction counseling in grasping the relevance of protean career. As a result of the research, the protean career and career construction counseling shared the postmodern world view. In other words, the philosophical position of emphasized self-awareness as the semantic component of experience, emphasizing the subjective activity of the individual, and emphasizing the relevance of continuous learning ability in context with the environment. The results of this study are expected to provide important implications for career counseling techniques in the direction of enhancing adaptability through personal self-understanding in continuous career development.
