The purpose of this study is to develop and validate a new creativity measurement tool for 3-5-year-old children, called the Child Figural Creativity Test(CFCT) coaching approach which considers the developmental aspects of children while addressing the need for creative individuals who can cope with and lead changes in 21st century knowledge and information. Through validation from literature and experts, the CFCT is composed of three creativity components: fluency, flexibility, and originality. The test was administered to 893 children from seven kindergartens in three regions (Gyeonggi, Jeolla, and Chungcheong) of South Korea to standardize the test. The collected data was scored and statistically analyzed to create norms for each age group. The CFCT showed an acceptable level of validity (.804), and high test-retest reliability (.952) and inter-rater reliability (.93~.96). This test can contribute to the development of creativity research and programs for young children by providing information on how to approach creativity measurement in children and how to actively engage them in the process.
