Children have no choice but to be left a passive readers. We hope that our children will be grown up a creative human being. so, this article would suggest the new method of reading children's pictorial fables. This article begins with recognizing the problems of children's pictorial fables reading process. We should understand the pictorial fables strategically to make up the void narrative gap of pictorial sequences. This article regards a mythical imagination as the key of reading the pictorial fables. The mythical imagination will fill up the gap of narrative storytelling. The mythical imagination will also produce a new narrative with a reading puzzle game method, which is the open game play, not the closed game play. The open game method repeatedly makes the story more interesting, so it has the power of producing narrative dynamics. The mythical imagination could be the new way of open reading game. This article will deal with a few pictorial fables such as Charlotte Dematons' <De Gele Ballon>, Piter Sis' <Madlenka>, Anthony Browne's <Into the Forest>, and Jung Gun's <Mago Grandmother>.
