초록

The purpose of this article is to conceptualize design process by examining students` works. They participated in the design competition organized by Ara Housing. The process is divided into four steps. First, students are asked to examine the guideline suggested by the committee of the competition. Then, based on the information, students should select a site where they wanted to develop their design scheme. In addition, all the information gathered from the selected site should be visualized properly. Second, on the basis of the information of the site and visual work from previous step, students and faculty have intensely discussed about the issue of the design process. Thirdly, on the basis of the discussion, each of the content presented in the competition brief has been embodied on the selected site. On the conclusion of this study, the outcome should be presented in a proper visual way. To do this, the works were collected during 15 weeks of the class, yet it has been about 13 weeks to complete the competition. However, the number of the participants was not enough to generalize the result of the research. Therefore the work should be considered to apply for further study having bigger samples in order to get more feasible result.
