Social problems of today are getting more and more complicated. In order to solve these problems, for-profit enterprises are attempting to perform effective and efficient CSR innovation beyond charitable support. In this respect, the partnership between for-profit enterprises and social enterprises is increasing, but no research has been conducted on the selection attributes of forming partnerships of for-profit enterprises. Hence, this study is to investigate the social innovation partner capabilities of for-profit enterprises. In order to accomplish this, this study reviews the relevant studies in a comprehensive way, and proposes a social innovation partner competency model based on the studies. In addition, pairwise comparison between the items in competency model is performed through the survey of experts, who have hands-on experience, to verify the importance of competency. Finally, AHP analysis is carried out to derive the importance between the factors. The results of the study are as follows. The importance of social innovation partner competency factors recognized by for-profit enterprises was shown in the order of sociality, sustainability and innovation. The analysis of importance ranking by composite weights confirmed that three of the top five variables (social mission matching, social problem solving expertise, and social problem understanding) were included in ‘sociality’, and the other two variables (business opportunity identification, financial stability) were included in ‘market orientation’. Moreover, the fact that ‘sociality’ and ‘market orientation’ are considered important was verified even in lower category. The results of this research contribute to CSR innovation partnership of for-profit enterprises, partnership strategy of social enterprises, and cross-sector partnerships to address social issues.
