Purpose: The purpose of this study is to evaluate the usability of the video lecture commentary solution to guarantee the learning rights of students with visual impairments which have been violated by the introduction of the non-face-to-face lecture system. Method: Three visually impaired students evaluated the audio prototype with commentary on the lecture video and the original lecture video without commentary on a 9-point Likert scale. Results: First, the degree of understanding increased by about 2.1 times when the lecture material screen and the explanation of the instructor's actions were provided. Second, lecture commentary voice that does not overlap with the original lecture sound is about 1.4 times more effective. Third, the user's degree of freedom should be guaranteed by providing various options for the explanation method. Conclusion: Video lecture commentary solution has the advantage of promoting independent learning for the visually impaired and securing learning efficiency. Therefore, we suggest to develop and disseminate programs that can automate it.
