초록

This study aimed to develop and evaluate a strength-based group counseling program designed to enhance resilience for university students. Following a systematic program development model, the program was finalized through four phases: goal setting, program design, a pilot study, and implementation. In the pilot study, the program was administered to 18 university students to examine its pre-post effectiveness, and the optimal delivery format was determined based on program attendance and satisfaction. The main study involved 25 university students (intervention group n = 12, control group n = 13), with the intervention group participating in a total of four sessions over two weeks. Resilience, optimism, depression, and anxiety were measured at three time points: pre-intervention, post-intervention, and at a one-month follow-up. Two-way repeated measures ANOVA was conducted to examine the interaction effects between group and time. The intervention group showed increased resilience and decreased levels of depression and anxiety after the program, with these effects maintained at follow-up. Although optimism in the intervention group did not show a significant change immediately after the program, it significantly increased at the follow-up stage. This study is significant in two respects: it developed a brief resilience enhancement program suitable for university counseling settings and examined college students’ resilience under the stress of the semester’s onset.
