The purpose of this study was to develop vocational cards as a career guidance tool, to develop a career guidance program using the vocational cards, and finally to examine the effect of the program. 63 occupational cards and four empty cards were prepared, and there were six items to fill out, including the name of job, Holland code, job explanation, aptitude/ability/how to prepare for the job, caricature character representing the job, and card number.The career guidance program using the vocational cards was designed primarily to enlarge clients' understanding of the vocational world, explore their job interest, and help them make out their own characteristics that are found by exploring job interest. This program consisted of pre-meeting, three different sessions and task activities.In order to analyze the effectiveness of the program, six counselors asked 85 elementary school children to sort out the given cards. And the evaluation papers prepared by the counselors and clients were analyzed. The clients found it joyful to participate in the program, and they were able to identify their own vocational interest, job preference and vocational characteristics.
