The Relationship of Adaptation of College and Academic Achievement: with the Mediating Effects of Openness and Self-leadership

The purpose of this study is to identify the relationship of college students’ adaptation of college and academic achievement with the mediating effects of openness and self-leadership. A sample of 198 college students participated in this study. Data was analyzed with SPSS 23.0 and SPSS Macro. The results are as follows. First, the mediating effects of openness and self-leadership were found on the relationship between adaptation and academic achievement. Second, the dual mediating effect were found not openness but self-leadership. In sum, these results indicated that adaptation of college, openness, self-leadership are considered all together to understand college students’ academic achievement, and especially adaptation and self-leadership should be considered more importantly. Based on this study, I hope that further investigations to improve the college students’ academic achievement are to be continued.
