Isang Yun (1917-1995) said that he would like to rest with listening to music after completing his five symphonic compositions (1982/83-1987) that compiling his own music. However, even after the Symphony No.5 premiered on his 70th birthday in 1987, he continued his creative activities until 1994. 36 works (mostly chamber music), about 30% of his entire works (119 pieces), were composed after he was 70s. Sickness at the end of his life could not keep him from his desire to composition. In September 1994, Isang Yun hastened to work on his composition because he felt that his life is not long after his health was severly aggravated by a severe shock when his return to his hometown was canceled.《Quintett für Klarinette und Streichquartett II》,《Quartett für Oboe und Streichtrio》, and《Engel in Flammen. Memento für Orchester mit Epilog für Sopran, dreistimmigen Frauenchor und fünf Instrumente》are the last three compositions created in this manner. In these works, the memories of his musical origins and an inner world were shapes. This study illuminates the creation of the late years of Isang Yun with a viewpoint of ‘Aesthetics of memory and inner world’. It analyzes the essential meaning of expression tyle and contents.
