Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of a music therapy and physical therapy collaborative group program on lower-extremity motor skills and peer relational skills of children with cerebral palsy (CP). Method: In a multiple baseline design, three children with CP participated in a collaborative group program led by one music therapist and one physical therapist three times a week, for a total of 15 sessions. Results: The study revealed increased GMFM scores, gait cadence/velocity, functional movement speed, balance time, and peer relational skills scores were observed among the three children. These findings suggest that the collaborative group program integrating music therapy and physical therapy has a positive impact on the improvement of lower-extremity motor skills and social skills in children with CP. Conclusion: The results of this study are meaningful to provide preliminary data in developing a collaborative intervention model for physical and social rehabilitation for children with CP.
