초록

The Nonggajipseong, published by Sin Sok (1600-1661) in 1655, was the most crucial agricultural guide of the time. Therefore, King Hyojong ordered the book to be distributed throughout the country, and the local provinces distributed it in woodblock prints for the government’s policy of encouraging farming. The purpose of this study is to examine Sin Sok’s family history and career, investigate the process of compiling and publishing the Nonggajipseong, and establish the system of editions by identifying the current status of the collection. The author, compilation, and publication process were investigated by researching the literature, and the editions currently in possession were identified using the Korean Old and Rare Collection Information System (KORCIS) and the Korean Library Information System Network (KOLIS-NET) as the basic data. Moreover, the editions were compared and analyzed based on the investigation. It was identified that 46 institutions owned the Nonggajipseong with 126 titles. The type of edition was established by dividing them into movable metal type prints (4 titles of Hyun Jong Sillokja) and woodblock prints (9 titles of Gongjubon, 6 titles of Gongjubon’s line, 13 titles of Wansanbon, 69 titles of Taeinbangkakbon, 2 titles of unclassified) and 23 titles of manuscripts. In the case of the woodblock prints, the pedigree of the editions were estimated through publication records and physical identification.
