지적장애 및 경계선 지적기능 유아와 발달성 언어장애 유아 간 문제행동의 차이: K-Vineland-Ⅱ, CBCL 1.5-5를 중심으로

Background/Objectives: This study aimed to compare the behavior problems in preschoolers with intellectual disability or borderline intellectual functioning (ID/BIF) and those with developmental language disorder (DLD). Methods: Participants were 68 preschoolers aged 3-6 years. Multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA) was performed to compare behavioral characteristics across the groups. Specifically, the Korean version of the Vineland Adaptive Behavior Scale, Second Edition (K-Vineland-II) was used to analyze the Maladaptive Behavior Index (MBI), internalizing and externalizing subdomains. For the Child Behavior Checklist (Ages 1.5-5) (CBCL 1.5-5), comparisons were made regarding the total problems score, internalizing and externalizing problems, syndrome scales, and Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM)-oriented scales. Results: On the K-Vineland-II, the ID/BIF groups scored significantly higher than the DLD group on the MBI, internalizing and externalizing subdomains. Conversely, on the CBCL 1.5-5, no significant differences were observed between the ID/BIF and DLD groups in total problems score, internalization and externalization problems. However, on the CBCL 1.5-5 syndrome scale, the ID/BIF group scored significantly higher in emotionally reactive and attention problems compared to the DLD group. No significant differences were found between the groups on the DSM-oriented scale. Conclusion/Implications: Our findings suggest that compared to preschoolers with DLD, those with ID/BIF experience greater difficulties with maladaptive behaviors, including internalizing and externalizing subdomains—particularly emotional and attention problems.
