초록

The purpose of present study was to investigate the preference of therapy media of art therapists and it's therapeutic significance. The subjects were 103 art therapists working in Seoul area. A questionnaire produced by the present researchers was applied to investigate. The collected data were analyzed by frequency analysis. It was found that art therapists preferred ‘dry-types of art media’ in general because of easy handling and safe protection of clients and therapists themselves. They had low preferences in ‘untypical art media’ and ‘wet-types of art media’ because of difficult handling and possibility of making clients regressive. According to therapists career, there was some differences. But there was no relationship between therapy media preference and art major. It was also found that therapy media preference of therapists were reflected and affected by chronological changes of social and cultural aspects. In the next study, the therapeutic influence of preference media on art therapy should be analyzed. And to gain the deep understanding about clients, we will need to find a detailed review about new preferences according to the alteration of times.
