초록

As the perception of gender roles in our society gradually changes, men’s participation and time in housework are increasing. In particular, men’s participation in housework is very important in that it affects the relative amount of women’s housework time. Therefore, this study aimed to determine how women’s housework time changes when the scope is expanded to include women and their families. To this end, data from the 9th Wave (2022) of the Korean Longitudinal Survey of Women and Families were used, and the study was conducted on married couples with preschool and school-age children. The results of the analysis are summarized as follows. First, the influence of individual, children, and husband factors on women’s housework time has increased in that order. Second, the husband’s housework time had the greatest influence on women’s housework time. Third, gender role awareness, working hours, number of preschool children, number of school-age children, and use of childcare facilities had a significant effect on women’s housework hours. Based on the results, this study discussed policy priorities and related intervention directions for women’s housework time.
