This study aims at measuring and analyzing the effectiveness of the 'S Leadership' education program at Sookmyung Women's University and establishing the direction of its program advancement necessary for the dissemination as the global leadership education of the future. In doing so, we conducted the review of relevant leadership education literature, case studies of college leadership education programs in Korea and overseas, and an empirical survey to analyze the effectiveness of the current Sookmyung leadership education program. The analysis results are three-fold. First, spreading out the Sookmyung leadership education and its culture is shown to be very crucial for its globalization and strengthening its competitiveness. Second, the four areas of S Leadership(i.e., Spirit, Skill, Service, Strength) are found to be quite comprehensive for enhancing the capability of leaders necessary for leadership development. Third, the analysis of the survey conducted for those students who took the core S Leadership course (two credit) revealed that the mean scores are improved in each S Leadership area after education than before. Further, the paired t test and Pearson correlation analysis proved the students' leadership capability improvement through education, and also indirectly showed the good composition of the four areas with their stronger synergy effect after education. Based on the results, we suggested key points for the future direction of leadership education to further enhance the effectiveness of S Leadership education and advance Sookmyung Leadership education program as a global program.
