초록

This study examined the educational effectiveness of incorporating YouTube content into university-level liberal arts Japanese courses, considering the learning characteristics of the digital native generation. Survey results showed that students perceived YouTube as helpful for authentic language exposure, learning motivation, autonomy, and accessibility, particularly enhancing listening comprehension and cultural understanding. They also preferred content linked to classroom activities rather than simple viewing. Based on these findings, the study proposes instructional design strategies, including criteria for content selection, staged classroom activities, and the instructor’s mediating role, confirming that YouTube serves as an effective resource that complements traditional textbook-based instruction. 本研究は、デジタルネイティブ世代の学習特性を考慮し、大学の教養日本語授業におけるYouTubeコンテンツ活用の教育的可能性と効果を実証的に分析することを目的とする。そのために、教養日本語科目の受講生を対象にアンケート調査を実施し、YouTubeの活用経験、コンテンツの種類、学習効果、授業活用に対する認識等を分析した。 調査の結果、多くの学習者は、YouTubeコンテンツが実際の言語使用環境への曝露、学習意欲の喚起、自律性およびアクセスのしやすさの面で、肯定的な学習効果をもたらすと認識していることが明らかになった。特に、聴解力および文化理解において顕著な効果が確認され、単なる視聴よりも授業内活動と連携したコンテンツ活用を好む傾向が見られた。 これを踏まえ、本研究では学習者のレベルおよび授業目標に適合するコンテンツ選定の基準、段階的な言語活用を促す授業設計、教員の媒介的役割に関する提言を含む授業設計案を提示した。YouTubeコンテンツは、従来の教科書中心の日本語教育が抱える限界を補完し得る、有効な教材としての活用可能性を有することが確認された。
