초록
The purpose of this study is to find out the effect of middle-aged adults' experience of living events on hope, and to verify the moderating effect of relationship between hope and experience of living events. To this end, data were collected from 547 adults aged 40 to 60, who are studying at lifelong educational institutions in Seoul, Gyeonggi-do, Chungcheongnam-do, and Gangwon-do provinces. The results of this study are as follows. First, the experience of living events influenced on hope, and the financial factor of the experience of living events had a significant impact on hope. Also, financial and personal-social factors had a significant impact on leading thinking among the sub-factors of hope. Second, the relatedness moderated between experience of living events and hope. In other word, the higher the level of relatedness, the higher the level of hope by weakening the negative impact of the experience of living events on hope. These results suggest that, while recognizing the importance of forming relationships with others to middle-aged adults, therapeutic interventions that can raise hope in the counseling practice are important.
