In this article, we consider ‘politeness’ as more comprehensive concept than ‘honor’, so ‘intimacy, closeness, kindness, consideration’ are included. If the honor is expressed by grammatical or lexical factors, we can approach the way of politeness is expressed in two ways. One is when it is expressed by indirect request expressions or refusal expressions through typical pragmatic mechanism in the layer of pragmatics, and the other is when it is expressed through pragmatic mechanism in the layer of non-pragmatics, such as phoneme, grammar, vocabulary. Like this, feature of polite expression made by pragmatic mechanism is that it’s expressed through ‘intimate attitude’ unlike ‘honor’, and ‘informal attitude’ unlike ‘formality’. We can confirm that in the center of pragmatic feature, there is ‘politeness’. It is important to note that 'politeness', which is at the center of socio-cultural characteristics, is an important aspect of Korean language education and reflects it well in the contents of Korean pragmatics education and is a representative culture of Korean culture (mental etiquette, behavior etiquette, linguistic etiquette), it is also linked to education. The learning of the politeness generated by this pragmatic mechanism is the main content of the pragmatic education which should be done in the intermediate level.
