In Korea, the Consumer Protection Law was enacted in 1980 and is the basis for comprehensive consumer policy promotion. Since then, the law has been revised twice, and many improvements have been made, including the establishment of the Korea Consumer Protection Agency. Therefore, this study focuses on an empirical investigation of how media reports are conveying 'consumer policy' through a chronicle of the presidents. In this research, text mining and semantic network analysis were used on 2216 articles related to 'consumer policy' reported by governments from the Kim Yong-Sam government to the Park Geun-Hye government to 12 media. This study is meaningful in that it grasps meaning and change related to 'consumer policy', as well as the connectivity between words, from a structural point of view.
