Beauty is also understood as what creates culture, and the necessity of the beauty industry is emphasized more and more to the extent that national policies have lately focused on this industry. Indeed, the cosmetic industry is still regarded as one of prospective industries to meet women's needs for beauty. The purpose of this study was to examine the cosmetic purchase behavior of female consumers by age group in an effort to accelerate the development of segmented products geared toward different customer groups and of the cosmetic industry. The findings of the study showed that many of the women wanted to remove their skin troubles by using cosmetics, and that they wanted to share lots of information to find better products. Although a wide variety of products have lately been launched in the domestic cosmetic market, segmented products tailored to specific consumer groups aren't yet sufficient. More R&D efforts should be made to provide more diverse and segmented products to satisfy consumer needs, and more aggressive promotion and marketing strategies are required as well.
