The average life expectancy is increasing due to low birth rates, aging, and the development of science and technology, but the productive population is decreasing due to population aging. In this study, we classified the types of job satisfaction among older wage earners and analyzed related influencing factors to encourage older people to actively participate in the labor market and continue their jobs. For this purpose, 2,663 elderly wage earners were sampled using personal data from the 25th year of the Korea Labor Panel Survey (2022). Latent profile analysis was performed using Mplus, and multinomial logistic regression analysis was performed using R3step. The analysis results are as follows: First, the job satisfaction potential profile of older workers was classified into a total of four groups (dissatisfied with personnel/welfare group, moderate job satisfaction group, high job satisfaction group, and satisfactory working conditions group). Second, age, gender, and education variables, which are personal factors, were found to affect job satisfaction. Third, employment status, working hour type, working hour regularity, and business location variables corresponding to working conditions factors were found to have an effect on job satisfaction. Fourth, among the subjective perception factors, the variable of suitability between current work and skill level was found to have an effect on job satisfaction. Based on the results of this study, suggestions and implications for increasing job satisfaction among older wage earners are as follows: First, to improve the job satisfaction of older workers, it is necessary to expand internship programs that take into account work experience and aptitude. Second, there is a need to activate vocational training that can improve the job skills of the elderly in accordance with technological changes. Third, there is a need to expand good part-time jobs so that seniors can maintain stable employment. Fourth, the government needs to consider how personnel evaluations and career development systems can be applied to companies to increase the satisfaction of older workers and maintain their jobs.
