초록

This paper explores masochism with an aim to provide a thorough analysis of Oedipus, the oppression mechanism that regards the human desire as the fundamental premise of psychoanalysis. The investigation of masochism will enhance the understanding of the dynamic aspects of psychoanalysis as it is closely associated with the peniscentrism and misogynistic aspects of the Oedipus complex, which has become the central mechanism of psychoanalytic theory. To better understand masochism, the paper discusses the basic concepts of psychoanalysis such as “castration anxiety,” “penis-envy,” “an unconscious sense of guilt,” and “a superego as a moral conscience.” In order to diagnose pathological conditions of “masochism”, psychoanalysis focuses on underlying concepts and highlights its persuasive power of scientific reasoning. In this light, this paper further provides an in-depth analysis of the logic of psychoanalysis while opening up an opportunity for the review of the self-contradictory errors and limitations within the psychoanalytic approach. For this, Deleuze and Guattari’s anti-psychoanalytic critic which offers the anti-Oedipus position will play an important role as an alternative and as an overthrow.
