초록

This study attempts to introduce the story of how the course work, titled as “Understanding Real Life of North Korea” of Sookmyung Women’s University—initiated in 2015-- has successfully become popular among students. The North Korean study has hardly been a subject for attracting young generation’s interest since most of them are concerned more about their job prospects than people from North Korea. Most universities also do not pay much attention to change this negative trend. This study identifies several problems of apathetic attitudes of Korea’s academic community, and therefore, proposes how we can create a course that stimulates interests among young students and finally will win the hearts and minds of millennial Z generation who are holding different culture from the previous one.
