협동학습의 본질

초록

A recent thrust of cooperative learning methods tends to exude competition rather than cooperation. The majority of methods are proposed for achievement of pre-specified tasks rather than investigation of open-ended questions, and thus tend to rely on extrinsic rather than intrinsic motivation to learn. This may rather prove a liability to the long-term development of a democratic way of living well over the school wall, though may contribute to the intra-mural achievement in academics, affect, and sociability. The Project Approach and the Reggio Emilia Approach as general approaches to early education may hold more promise as cooperative learning methods than so-called specifically cooperative learning methods currently popular.
