This article seeks to examine the reconstruction of narratives in 21st century disaster novels. In the changing era of decentralization, traditional family narratives that emphasize intimacy based on exclusive solidarity, demand sacrifice and commitment began to change, and stories of family disbandment and reconstruction began to emerge. One of them is the "similar family" discussion. Similar family discussions begin with the premise that a family is a component, reflecting the definition of a changed family. Now, the current familyism has horizontality ahead of authoritarianism, emphasizing self- realization and personalizing members. Similar family communities in the meta-family narrative explore alternative possibilities to overcome the problems of existing family narratives. However, if this search of possibility internalizes traditional family ideology or appears mixed with mythized family fantasy, similar families cannot fully function as alternative meta-family narratives, so this article examines the need for an ideological family fantasy in relationships and solidarity. The newly defined 'family' in alternative family narratives allows us to move beyond certain family arrangements and explore the possibility of restoring the "broken society" of close, private and close relationships and ties between humans, and the interactions and connections that it triggers. This provides a significant point of reflection in the reality of passing through the covid-19 crisis.
