The purpose of this study is to examine the degree of job satisfaction and alienation of workers at vocational rehabilitation facilities for the disabled and to verify the impact of job satisfaction on the alienation of workers. The study also suggests ways to improve job satisfaction and overcome alienation. The study was conducted on 222 people working at vocational rehabilitation facilities for the disabled in Seoul with a questionnaire on job satisfaction and alienation. The collected data were analyzed through frequency analysis, Pearson's correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis. The results are as follows. First, there is a significant negative (-) correlation between job satisfaction and alienation with respect to normlessness and powerlessness excluding social isolation. Second, job satisfaction significantly affected alienation in that as job satisfaction related to the working condition increases, social isolation in the workplace in the alienation area decreases. Third, job satisfaction significantly affected alienation in that as job satisfaction related to the work performance increases, the sense of powerlessness in the alienation area decreases. Fourth, in the relationship between controled variables and alienation, the lower the age of a worker, the level of normlessness and social isolation in the alienaion area increases. Based on the results of this study, a plan was suggested to increase the satisfaction of the working environment and job performance to overcome the alienation of workers in vocational rehabilitation facilities for the disabled. In addition, this study also sought a way to overcome the normlessness and social isolation of workers in the lower age group.
