초록

The purpose of this study was to examine how novice counselors, who started meeting their clients before and after graduation, are experiencing the counseling study and training. In order to achieve the purpose, in-depth interviews were conducted with 8 participants in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province. The collected data were analyzed using Colaizzi's phenomenological method. As a result of this study, 8 categories, 19 themes clusters, and 38 themes were derived. The categorized contents were 'entering the path of counseling', 'starting to study counseling', 'experiencing the hard training', 'starting the first counseling', 'looking anxiously at the reality', 'hesitating in front of reality', 'getting up from reality', and 'making my way in counseling'. This study is expected to develop an education and training program to reduce the difficulties of novice counselors and to provide basic data for christian counseling to become the support of the beginners.
