초록
The study redefines the concept of modern ‘science and technology’ as idea encompassing empirical, traditional, and indigenous knowledge, and looked at North Korean women’s daily lives and value-added production activities related to water and sanitation since 2000. Since the economic crisis, the empirical, traditional and indigenous knowledge of individual women has played a fairly valid role at a time when water and sanitation-related systems have been virtually paralyzed and structural improvements are insignificant. Women used experiential and traditional knowledge and practiced technology to live daily life, and sometimes developed products with entrepreneurship. However, despite the subjective practice, women are often left out of the market or unable to use products properly due to lack of modern science and technology. The causes of these limitations are fragmented and disruptive systems, gender inequality, low policy interest in residents’ lives, and market logic.
