초록
This study was conducted to explore the connection between the play-based educational approach emphasized in the 2019 Revised Nuri Curriculum and Bang Jung-hwan’s philosophy of child education. Bang’s educational philosophy, centered on innocence (Dongshim), agency, and affective growth, viewed children as independent and self-directed individuals, emphasizing learning and development through play and the arts. It was identified that his philosophy aligns closely with the goals of the Nuri Curriculum, which aims to cultivate healthy, autonomous, creative, emotionally rich, and socially cooperative individuals. Bang’s concept of innocence fosters imagination and sensitivity, agency promotes self-directed learning, and affective growth enhances emotional development and social cooperation. These principles clarify the value of play-based education in contemporary early childhood education and provide a framework for nurturing creative and collaborative individuals. However, this study’s limitation lies in its insufficient discussion on the role of educators and the structuring of educational environments, which remains an area for further exploration in future research.
