초록

The era of the 4th Industrial Revolution has arrived, where the worlds of bits and atoms are converging and boundaries are breaking down. The world of the Internet, which perceives the world as binary information, and the real world made of atoms overlap and merge, transforming the virtual world into a life that replaces the real world. Now, the definition of human beings is also bound to change, and human-centered humanism is faced with the emergence of transhumans and posthumans. The posthuman imagination began in Korea in the 1960s. The youth magazine 『Hakwon』 is a magazine that introduces the US space development race and delivers scientific knowledge as a core educational competency for youth. This magazine contains space science articles and science fiction, showing the posthuman imagination of the fusion of humans/aliens/machines and the expansion of space into outer space. In particular, science novelist Han Nak-won’s 『Uzu Beolre Omega ho』is a representative work that demonstrates posthuman imagination. The purpose of this study was to analyze whether this work is a text that deconstructs hierarchy, showing the hybrid imagination of humans and non-humans, or whether it is a text that again constitutes the hierarchical privileging of human males through adventure. This work is a space opera genre with a boy protagonist fighting against the invasion of Jupiterians. It is clear that it shows a new cosmic imagination where humans/aliens/machines collide and combine, but it ends with the aliens/monsters/robots being defeated and the boy leader returning. By combining with the hierarchy of humans>animals>machines, extraterrestrial beings also become lower hierarchical. Extraterrestrial beings combined with animal nature are eliminated, and the boy protagonist, who fights against them and protects the identity of the Earth, grows as a subject. Although it depicts the space of the universe with posthuman imagination, it can be said to be a work that remains limited by humanism centered on male humans.
