초록

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of song-centered therapeutic music activities on the enhancement of self-efficacy and emotional changes in career-interrupted full-time housewives. A total of 20 participants were randomly assigned to either the experimental group(n=10) or the control group(n=10). After a pretest, the experimental group received a total of eight sessions of song-centered therapeutic music activities, conducted once a week for 90 minutes per session, while the control group received no intervention. A posttest was conducted using the same instruments. Self-efficacy was measured using the scale revised by Cha(1997), and emotional changes were assessed using the Korean version of the PANAS(Positive and Negative Affect Scales) developed by Watson et al., (1988). The results were as follows. First, the self-efficacy scores of the experimental group improved, with statistically significant increases in the subscales of confidence and task difficulty. Second, among the emotional variables, the experimental group showed a significant decrease in negative affect and a significant increase in positive affect. These findings suggest that song-centered therapeutic music activities can serve as an effective intervention for promoting psychological well-being and enhancing inner strength in career-interrupted full-time housewives. Furthermore, the results provide foundational data for the development and clinical application of various supportive programs addressing the psychological needs of this population, which continues to be a relevant issue in contemporary society.
