This study explored the relationship among music teaching efficacy, music teaching intention, and children's internalizing/externalizing behaviors and analyzed the variables that effect children's internalizing/externalizing behaviors. For the present study, there was a sample of 194 teachers and 388 children they worked with at early childhood centers in Seoul. The results indicate that music teaching efficacy is associated with music teaching intention, which then exerts influence on children's internalizing and externalizing behaviors. Furthermore, teachers' music teaching intention mediated a positive relationship between music teaching efficacy and children's internalizing/externalizing behaviors. Our findings suggest that increases in music teaching efficacy and music teaching intention may lead to decreases in children's maladjusted behaviors.
