The purpose of this paper is to present a new model explaining how the mathematical teaching and learning process proceeds with the formation of structural arrangements of various heterogeneous materials, that is, mechanical assemblage. Based on the discussion of post-humanism and inclusive materialism, this paper presents the assemblage model that analyzes material changes that appear in the mathematics teaching and learning process. The assemblage model describes the process in which learners encounter new meanings through changes in physical habits, changes in language usage, and confusion among learners as structural arrangements of various materials are newly rearranged.
