초록
The purpose of this study is to develop and verify the validity of a coaching model for improving the creativity of early childhood. First, we examine the relationship between creativity improvement of early childhood and coaching based on theories related to positive psychology, coaching, and creativity. Through this, the WISE-CANDY coaching model is developed to apply practical and specific methods that can elicit potential talents of early childhood in an efficient way with a coaching approach. The developed coaching model uses the existing WISE coaching model developed by Lee (2008) as a conceptual model and extends the CANDY coaching model developed by researching the elements necessary for creativity improvement into an execution model. An expert survey was conducted to review the validity of the coaching model developed in this study. The participating experts were six professional coaches who have a doctorate degree, wrote a doctoral dissertation on coaching, creativity, and early childhood education, served as the director of daycare centers and kindergartens, and the director of the Creative Education Center, and have Korea Associate Coach (KAC) and Korea Professional Coach (KPC) qualifications in South Korea. We received feedback on questions about the model development configuration data (4-point Likert-type scale) and interview questions via e-mail from experts, and the fit of the model was reviewed by modifying and reflecting on the feedback. As a result of the analysis, the validity of the WISE-CANDY coaching model was confirmed with an average of 3.51 points. The results of this study are examined in theoretical, methodological, and practical aspects, and the developed coaching model confirms the practical applicability of coaching in the creativity improvement program of early childhood.
