초록

The purpose of this study is to explain, interpret the practice of ecological community movements through reviewing ecological thoughts, arguments of deep ecology and social ecology. In the first place, I reviewed their philosophies, principles and practice strategies and then, drew a few implications. Secondly, Two cases, the formation of ‘Sungmisan village’ and life movement of ‘Wonju’ were selected and examined as the remarkable practices of the ecological communities in Korea. These have attempted to practice ecological relationship of coexistence in a way of life. In the conclusion, I discussed the important meanings and implication of these ecological community movements.
