아동상담자가 경험한 신체접촉의 양상과 수용·비수용 판단 기준에 관한 탐색 연구

초록

This study explored patterns of physical touch experienced by child counselors, criteria for accepting or declining touch, and education and training experiences. Data from 100 child counselors with at least a master’s degree and three or more years of experience were collected through open-ended questionnaires and analyzed using modified Consensual Qualitative Research. Physical touch primarily occurred in contexts of emotional support, relationship building, and situational circumstances, including hugging, hand-holding, and patting. Decisions regarding acceptance and nonacceptance involved child-related, therapist-related, relational, environmental, and ethical-safety-contextual factors, with an independent category of “no experience of nonacceptance” and more diverse therapist-related subcategories. Although counselors reported learning through supervision, coursework, training, and peer discussions, systematic education was limited and there was strong demand reported for formal training. These findings suggest that physical touch in child counseling requires complex developmental, ethical, and contextual judgment, highlighting the need for systematic education to strengthen counselors’ ethical and professional competence.
