외국인 유학생 대상 수업의 AI 실시간 통･번역 서비스 활용 경험에 대한 연구

초록

This study examined international students’ experiences with an AI-based real-time interpretation and translation service in classes and explored its implications for course operation and instructional design in higher education. Using a mixed-methods approach that combined a survey and a focus group interview (FGI), the study found that ease of use and learning support were generally evaluated positively. However, several limitations were identified. These included unnatural translations, delays in subtitle generation, mistranslation of technical terms, and differences in quality across languages and user groups. These problems were found to hinder the stability, accuracy, and consistency of students’ understanding of course content. Based on the issues identified through the survey and FGI, this study proposes guidelines for instructors’ speech. It also emphasizes the need for integrated improvements in technology, speech delivery, and course design. The study is significant in that it offers practical guidance for the effective use of AI-based academic support tools in multilingual classroom settings.
