국내 문화예술 동호회 연구의 지형 분석: 자발성×실천성 매트릭스를 통한 연구 공백 진단

Since the spread of the cultural democracy paradigm and the enactment of the Local Culture Promotion Act in 2014, interest in culture and arts clubs has been increasing; however, no prior studies have systematically analyzed the relevant research trends. Therefore, this study aims to examine research trends and the aspects of spontaneity and practice by conducting a qualitative meta-synthesis of 25 papers on culture and arts clubs published in domestic academic journals. The analysis was limited to clubs in the genres of performing arts (music, theater, and dance), visual arts (comics), and cinematic arts (film). Drawing on self-determination theory (Deci & Ryan, 1985), the capacity-building model of Parsons (1998), and serious leisure theory (Stebbins, 1992) as a mediating concept, a 3×3 matrix framework was constructed by crossing three levels of spontaneity with three domains of practice. The analysis revealed that 9 papers were concentrated in cell 9 (social spontaneity × social/public practice), while cells 3, 7, and 8 remained as research gaps. A comparison with the field of recreational sports indicated that cells 3 and 8 represent gaps specific to culture and arts club research, whereas cell 7 remains unexplored in both fields. Follow-up studies employing longitudinal designs and participant observation are recommended. This study is significant as the first systematic analysis of research trends in culture and arts clubs and the first to visualize the gaps within this field.
