We demonstrate a graphene oxide (GO) and poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) polystyrene sulfonate (PEDOT: PSS) blended film as a black matrix (BM) using a laser-patterning process. The transmittances and surface roughnesses of the GO and PEDOT:PSS-blended films are investigated as functions of the blending ratio. The transmittance of the GO:PEDOT:PSS (9:1) blended film decreases dramatically from 58.3 % to 6.19 % upon laser irradiation. The GO:PEDOT:PSS(9:1) blended film exhibits a low reflectance of 1.24 % in the specular component excluded mode, and the transmittance and reflectance could be controlled by laser irradiation. The reduction of the GO and PEDOT:PSS-blended films with different blending ratios is analyzed using X-ray photoelectron and Raman spectroscopy. GO and PEDOT:PSS blended films with a grid pattern for BM are simply patterned on various substrates and films, such as glass, flexible polyethylene terephthalate, color filters, and quantum dots, using a photomask and laser irradiation process. In addition, GO and PEDOT:PSS-blended solution coating and laser irradiation processes are successfully applied for direct BM patterning on a top-emitting white organic light-emitting diode without damage.
