This article aims to analyze the meaning of posthuman by dividing it into “post” and “human,” then proposing next man as its Korean translation to explain the posthuman phenomenon according to the meaning of Korean “next man,” arguing in the process that the condition of posthuman is the same as that of new man. I explain why “사람 [man]” is more appropriate than “人間” as a Chinese translation. I delve into the phenomenon of the next in the translation of “post” to show that its core is related to newness. I then divide the “new” of newness into “leaking” and “making” and systematically reveal the meaning of newness according to these terms’ respective meanings. Lastly, I argue that the condition of the next person lies in the newness of the person and prove its validity through the example of Dr. Ubinna, the protagonist of the novel Rodin, the AI Momphy Robot.
